$7.5 MILLION SECURED FOR NEW CARPARK IN HURSTVILLE

750万澳币锁定新州好事围造新停车设施

David Coleman, the Federal Member for Banks, was today joined by the Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, to announce that the Federal Government will be committing $7.5 million towards fixing parking in Hurstville.

The announcement forms part of a $253.5 million congestion-busting funding boost for NSW - part of the Morrison Government's $1 billion Urban Congestion Fund.

此公布款项是2.535亿'提高新州对抗堵塞款'中的一部分 - 也就是莫里森政府整个 10亿城市堵塞款中的一部分。

Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the investment would mean people in the St George area would be getting home sooner and safer.

"Our investment means people can spend more time with friends and family and less time trying to find parking," the Prime Minister said.

"This is a significant investment in tackling the congestion hotspots that are costing people precious time and losing businesses money."

Mr David Coleman has also welcomed news of this funding, noting how parking in Hurstville has been an ongoing issue for some time now.

"Hurstville is the beating heart of our local economy, and it's important that people can get a parking spot in the area.  Every day thousands of local residents travel to and from Hurstville, and the difficulty in obtaining parking is well known within our community," Mr Coleman said.

"I have been seeking funds to address this problem for some time now, and I am glad we have been able to secure these much-needed funds in order to tackle this serious problem," Mr Coleman said.

The Federal Government will work with the State Government on the implementation of this important project.
