Labor believes there is much to do to improve affordable housing in Sydney, make child care more accessible, use the city's resources to transition to solar and renewable energy, and develop more green space and sporting grounds in our city.

This year, the childcare shortfall in the City of Sydney was projected to reach more than 3,300 places. More action is needed to meet the overwhelming demand.

Sydney is the heart of our LGBTIQ community.

Our city must be a safe and inclusive community for our LGBTIQ residents and families we must do more to recognise the Aboriginal history of our city, and recognition of the wrongs committed against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples that happened in the heart of our city.

Linda has long been a champion for affordable housing, and it is core to Labor's values.

There has been little change in how Council plans for open space and recreation areas in the past decade. In the same time the rise in local population and the higher density of living means we need more and not less space to play sport, walk the dog, take the kids to the playground or to kick a ball around, or simply sit in the sun and read a book or eat our lunch.
